Dip. Gestalt Psychotherapy
I am currently unable to offer new appointments.
about me
I am Registered with the Psychotherapists Board of Aotearoa New Zealand (PBANZ) and a full member of the New Zealand Association of Psychotherapists.
I have a Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapist with a particular interest in the Conversational Model of Psychotherapy and attachment theory.
I work in private practice after having worked at Student Health Services as a counsellor for four years.
I work with individuals from age 18 upwards, short or long term.
I came to be a psychotherapist from 30 years of clinical background as a qualified psychiatric nurse. The later years I was involved in specialised psychotherapy group programmes in both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings.
I have experience working with people with a wide range of issues, those in distress or are having emotional or relational difficulties, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, eating problems, bereavement, and past or present trauma.
my approach
My approach is to work alongside people in a respectful, empathic, and accepting manner. I aim to provide a safe and trusting relationship where difficulties can be expressed, understood, and worked through. Where personal growth is encouraged through self-awareness of feelings and emotions and noticing recurring life themes.
If you are hurting or wanting to make changes in your life, please don’t hesitate to contact me for an appointment.
